There’s something extra special about families who drive in from out of town. This mama made the trip from El Dorado because she loved the calm, cozy look of my studio. Baby settled right in, giving us the sweetest sleepy poses and a few heart-melting smiles.

We started on a moss-green backdrop for timeless images full of texture. Baby curled up naturally, showing off tiny wrinkles and perfect little toes. After a quick setup change to a creamy neutral palette, we captured more relaxed poses and a fun prop shot with a wooden rainbow. Every image feels peaceful, sweet, and very on brand for a baby-only session that lets your little one shine.

Shreveport Newborn Photographer - Capturing Sweet Moments with an Older Newborn – A 10-Week-Old Baby Girl’s Studio Session

While many newborn sessions take place within the first two weeks of life, not every family is ready or able to come in right away—and that’s perfectly okay. This session is the perfect example of how beautiful portraits can still be created even when baby is a little older.

This sweet baby girl at 10 weeks old is wide-eyed and relaxed on layered textures in soft gold and white. Her expression and beautiful outfit highlight how dreamy older newborn sessions can be.

This baby girl was around 10 weeks old when she came to my studio, and she absolutely rocked her session. With bright eyes, soft skin, and the sweetest expressions, she gave us a variety of awake and calm poses that were just as precious as the classic sleepy newborn shots. Her soft taupe romper, delicate headbands, and warm-toned backdrops kept everything feeling timeless and cozy.

We also incorporated sweet family moments, including heart-melting images with mom and dad by the window. Her expressions, curiosity, and even a few smiles brought so much life to this gallery. Sessions with older newborns might look a little different than the typical newborn curl, but they still tell the most beautiful story of a baby’s earliest days.

Soft Tones and Sweet Smiles – Studio Newborn Session in Shreveport

Some babies just seem to melt right into their little setups, and this sweetheart made it look effortless. From the moment she arrived at the studio, I knew we were in for a beautiful session. Her full head of dark hair, gentle smile, and content spirit created an absolutely dreamy collection.

We began with soft blues for a classic newborn look. I love how peaceful she looked wrapped in a ribbed knit with a floral headband, so simple, yet so striking. One of my favorite parts of every newborn session is capturing a macro close-up. Those little lips, tiny pores, and delicate peach fuzz never stay this small for long.

Next, we added a tiny knit bear for a little extra sweetness. It’s amazing how these tiny touches can give such personality to the final gallery. After a quick swaddle change, she snuggled right back in and let us change setups without even a stir.

Her pink-toned set felt soft and feminine with a hint of vintage charm. The lace romper and floral headband paired perfectly against the warm blush backdrop. She even gave us a smile mid-session, and I couldn’t have asked for better timing.

To wrap things up, we swaddled her in white and let her settle into a relaxed, seated pose, finished with a dreamy green basket look surrounded by houseplants. I love incorporating texture and natural elements when we can. This gallery is full of variety while still feeling soft and cohesive throughout.

Every newborn session is different, but when a baby settles like this one did, I feel so honored to do what I do. These are the little moments families will remember forever.

Studio Newborn Session | Classic Neutrals + Cozy Family Moments

A quiet portrait of mama embracing her newborn with both love and peace

There’s something about neutrals and simplicity that lets the beauty of a newborn shine through. This studio newborn session was calm, timeless, and filled with the kind of love that quietly takes your breath away.

From the first frame, this baby boy melted into each pose like he had been practicing for weeks. We began with warm, creamy tones on a soft-textured backdrop, and I couldn’t get enough of how perfectly his red-blonde hair and peaceful expressions paired with the earthy palette.

We moved through a handful of classic looks, baby wrapped snugly in white, curled up in cozy knits, and lying naturally in soft beige tones. Each setup allowed his features to take center stage: those fluttery lashes, perfect pout, and delicate fingers wrapped around a tiny bear.

But as always, some of the most meaningful moments came when I brought Mom and Dad into the frame. Their quiet awe, the way dad gently supported the baby’s head while mom looked on with pride, those are the frames that will mean even more 5, 10, 20 years from now.

This session is proof that simplicity never goes out of style. With gentle light, a neutral palette, and love you can feel, we created images that will forever tell the story of his earliest days.
