Newborn photos do not have to happen right away
There is a lot of pressure around newborn photography being done within the first two weeks, and while those early sessions are beautiful, they are not the only option.
I photograph newborns from just a few days old all the way up to eight weeks. Many parents choose to wait, and for good reason. Recovery looks different for every mother. Some families want time to settle in, heal, and find a rhythm before stepping in front of a camera.
Older newborn sessions allow for more flexibility and a slower pace. Babies are often more alert, make beautiful eye contact, and naturally interact with their parents. These sessions feel calm and connected, focusing less on strict posing and more on real moments.
Whether you choose a classic early newborn session or decide to wait a few extra weeks, you will still receive timeless, meaningful images that reflect this season honestly. There is no right or wrong timeline, only what feels best for your family.
